My current practice revolves around alienation and isolation with the aim to normalize and highlight such realities to my viewer and prompt them to reflect on their position and experiences. Using ants as my subject matter, I hope to emit feelings of uncertainty among the viewers and to reflect on the unrepresentable future using common sights such as human environments. For myself, ants are an outlet of self-expression towards feelings of vulnerability and loneliness. I use printmaking, papercut and mix media works to express how I feel in such situations and the colour black commonly used in my works represent solemn matters and empathy to those who are dealing with such issues. Through my work, I hope to give my audience a sense of solace.
